These days, there are so many Android games for money you can play. And I’ve been using and testing these apps for years to make money ever since I was in college.
Cash Cow, a newer gaming app from a popular developer, is the perfect example. It says you can earn gift cards and real cash by playing games in your spare time, and it has over 500,000 downloads.
But is Cash Cow legit? And how much money can you make with this app?
I downloaded it and spent an afternoon testing it out to find out the truth. And my Cash Cow review is sharing how this app works, its earning potential, and what some of the best alternatives are.

What Is Cash Cow?
Cash Cow is an Android cash gaming app that pays you to download and play new mobile games on your phone.
The premise of the app is similar to other apps that pay you for playing games. All you have to do is download different sponsored games in your Cash Cow library and play them to earn coins.
From there, you exchange your coins for a variety of rewards. Overall, it’s a fun way to earn cash and gift cards for playing games in your spare time.
Is Cash Cow Legit?
Yes, Cash Cow is legit, and the app lets you earn cash and gift cards for playing new mobile games. When I tested out the app, it paid me for playing new games. The app also has a 4.2 average star rating with over 24,000 reviews:
Of course, Cash Cow won’t make you rich or replace your main income source. But if you want a fun and flexible phone side hustle, it’s a great app to try for any Android gamer.
How Does Cash Cow Work?
I downloaded Cash Cow to find out how the app works and to test out how much it pays before writing this review. Like most gaming apps, Cash Cow works in just five steps:
- Download the app
- Play games to earn coins
- Complete other offers
- Invite people to join
- Cash out
1. Download & Sign Up
You create an account by signing up with your Google account, Facebook account, or email. Once you sign up, you also enable app usage tracking so Cash Cow can track how long you spend playing games.
This is very common in the world of gaming apps, and other popular ones like Mistplay and Rewarded Play have the same requirement. New players also get a nice sign up bonus of 4499 coins, which is most of the way to the minimum cash out requirement of 4,999 coins.
2. Play Games To Earn Coins
The main way to make money online with the Cash Cow app is to download games from your library and then play them to earn coins.
Cash Cow pays you with coins every minute you spend playing a sponsored game. Each game in your library also displays how many coins it pays per minute, which I like.
- Lords Mobile (33 coins per minute)
- Mine Rescue (17 coins per minute)
- Scratch Card (10 coins per minute)
- Coin Sort (7 coins per minute)
Available games depend on your demographics and where you live. Since I’m testing out the app in Canada at the moment, I have fewer games to choose from than U.S. players.
I downloaded Mine Rescue and spent a few minutes playing, and sure enough, Cash Cow began paying me coins.
Just note that games pay slightly fewer coins the longer you play them. This is the same system apps like Mistplay and JustPlay use, so you have to keep downloading new games to earn as much as possible.
3. Complete Other Offers
If you run out of games in your library, you can also earn coins by completing other offers. In my account, Cash Cow had three other ways to earn, including:
Each of these options takes you to a type of offerwall where you have even more earning opportunities. A lot of the surveys pay between 500 and 2,000 coins. And you can find higher-paying opportunities in the download app and games section.
4. Invite Friends To Join
The Cash Cow referral program pays you with 250 coins for every friend you invite to the app. You also earn 25% of all the coins your friend earns, and they earn 25% of your future coins.
This lifetime referral bonus is pretty lucrative if your friends spend a lot of time gaming. And I like that both people get extra coins as well so it’s a win-win.
Cash Cow Rewards – How Do You Cash Out?
However, the rewards you can redeem and minimum coin requirements vary slightly depending on your country.
For example, I can’t redeem free PayPal cash in Canada, but people in the United States can. Gift card variety is also subject to change but includes companies like:
In order to cash out, Cash Cow requires that players submit a selfie using the app. This requirement is supposed to prove that the earnings are being claimed by a real person, so keep this in mind.
How Much Does Cash Cow Pay?
Cash Cow can pay a few dollars per day if you download several apps and spend time playing them regularly. And you can earn more if you use its other earning options, like cash surveys or paid install offers.
However, this app is just a fun side hustle and not a full-time income source. In my opinion, most people can probably make $5 to $20 per month with Cash Cow if they spend time gaming each week.
Just remember: games pay fewer coins the longer you play. To maximize earnings, this means you have to keep downloading and playing new games.

- Games pay fewer coins the longer you play

- Cash Cow is Android-only
Other Cash Cow Reviews
After testing out Cash Cow for an afternoon, I think the app is legit. I was able to earn coins for playing a new game, and overall, the app is a reliable way for beginners to make money online. But one of the best ways to tell if a side hustle idea is worth it or not is to read testimonials from other readers.
Thankfully, there are plenty of Cash Cow reviews on the Google Play store where people share their experiences:
- Evelina Alleigh says: “IT WORKS!! I’ve tried so many of these apps and sure they’ll pay out, but 98% of the time they don’t record my play progress. This app has properly tracked my gaming time.”
- Lucy Chartier says: “Originally worked, allowed you to cash out to PayPal. Now PayPal is no longer an option. Noticed I’m also not getting coins for playing my games even when going through the app first.”
- Earl says: “For those of u that can’t find the PayPal button, top right hand side, click “more payouts” that’s where you’ll find the PayPal and Amazon payouts. Be smarter than the game people. I only gave it three stars because they want my picture for verification.”
As you can see, Cash Cow app reviews are mixed. Some players love it, but some players report issues cashing out and that PayPal cash isn’t available anymore.
Some users also dislike the selfie verification requirement, which I also dislike since it’s a privacy concern. But this is how many gaming apps work this day, so it’s hard to avoid this requirement.

The Best Apps Like Cash Cow
If you want to play games for PayPal money or gift cards, you can give Cash Cow a try.
However, since games pay fewer coins over time, the best way to earn more rewards is to stack several gaming apps. Thankfully, there are plenty of games like Cash Cow you can use, including:
- Cash Giraffe: My current favorite Android app that pays you with a low $0.20 cash out minimum.
- Rewarded Play: A fun way to get gift cards by playing games.
- Money Well: Another popular app from JustDice with a low $0.50 cash out minimum.
- Kashkick: A U.S. rewards website where you earn by answering surveys and playing new games.
- Mistplay: One of the most popular gaming rewards apps on the market.
- App Flame: A similar app to Cash Cow with decent game variety.
- AppStation: One final Android gaming app you can use to earn free cash and gift cards.
These apps won’t make $5,000 a month or anything even close to that amount. But you can use them to earn small amounts of fun money while you enjoy new games.

No, Cash Cow isn’t a scam, and you can earn rewards by playing games with this app. However, it doesn’t pay very much, and you have to keep downloading new apps to continue earning.

Does Cash Cow Pay Real Money?
Yes, Cash Cow pays real money and is quickly becoming one of the most popular Android gaming apps. It also has a wide variety of rewards, including PayPal money and gift cards.
Overall, it’s a reputable and real game app that pays real money. Just know that you won’t earn a full-time income with this app.
I hope my Cash Cow review helps you decide if this gaming app is worth your time or not and what to expect.
There are honestly so many ways to earn autopilot cash while gaming these days. And if you have an Android, you can stack a few of the apps I mentioned in this article to make as much money as possible.
Of course, Cash Cow won’t make you a millionaire. And in my experience with using the app, you’re only making $1 to $2 per hour at most, and that requires trying new games.
But if you already spend time mobile gaming each week, you might as well get paid for it!
