What is AppStation?
AppStation is a free mobile gaming app that’s only available on Android, like so many other mobile gaming reward apps.
With AppStation, you to earn money for downloading and trying new mobile games from a list of available partner games.
More specifically, you get rewarded for downloading different games on your phone and playing them for a certain amount of time, level, or achievement.
If you’ve ever tried gaming platforms like Gamehag, you’ll understand exactly how AppStation works!
The app has over 100,000 reviews (most of them being 5 stars) and over 5 million users taking advantage of the money making potential that the app has to offer.
With these numbers, it is the closest competitor to the other popular gaming app known as Mistplay.
Additionally, there aren’t any in-app purchases and you don’t need any specific gaming skills to use AppStation.
They also claim that you will reach your first payout within the first 10 minutes playing, so you can see for yourself that there aren’t any scams pretty early on!
How Does AppStation Work?
To get started with AppStation, simply head over to the Google Play Store and download AppStation to your Android device.
When you open the app, you will immediately be asked for permission for AppStation to access your usage data in order to track the amount of time you spend playing the mobile games.
This is common in the world of gaming reward apps, so don’t be surprised that AppStation wants to track how much time you spend gaming.
These are some of the other requirements you need to use AppStation:
- Android phone.
- Good connection/wifi.
- Enough storage to download games.
- Be comfortable sharing usage data with the app.
As long as you have these requirements completed, you can move on to earning your first few dollars!
Signing up will immediately grant you 5555 coins which is equivalent to around $0.50.
After that, you can take a look at the wide selection of games and choose your favorites.
Note: you will eventually need to link your PayPal account if you want to receive the earnings through cash instead of gift cards.
What Type of Games Are There?
AppStation games range from a huge selection of genres, so there should be something of interest for most mobile gamers.
Here is a basic AppStation games list:
- Angry Birds 2.
- Dragon City.
- Candy Crush.
- Coin Master.
- Star Trek Timeline.
- WildScapes.
- Words with Friends.
As you can see, there are plenty of examples from puzzle games to action/adventure games and plenty more!
When you see your list of games on the home screen, choose which game you want to download and play and then select “Play & Collect”.
Each game will have a “coins per minute” number next to them which tells you the earnings that you will receive for playing that specific game.
We will get into how much those coins are worth later on in the “Earning Potential” section.
Keep in mind, you should only be trying to make money with these video games if you already play these video games anyway. It takes a while to earn any real rewards, so make sure you’re committed to playing before anything else.

AppStation Rewards List & How to Redeem
AppStation has a few rewards options for its users, although it’s safe to say most would go with a PayPal is available in their country.
However, if you’d prefer your rewards were cashed out another way, AppStation offers free gift card rewards to companies like:
- Amazon.
- Google Play credit gift card.
- Playstation.
- Xbox.
- Walmart.
- Groupon.
- Steam.
At the moment, these are the available cashout options for AppStation users. Again, Paypal cashouts are available at no extra cost.
You can redeem your rewards through the “Payout” section of the app. You will usually get the best possible rewards based on your demographic location.
In other words, living in the US or the UK will greatly benefit you in this case.
The minimum payout amount is $5 redeemable through any of the above mentioned gift cards or Paypal.
A $5 minimum isn’t unheard of in the world of reward apps. However, with Mistplay, you can cashout at just $0.50 with Amazon gift card, and it will take some time to reach your first $5.
You should also allow up to 7 days for any payout transactions to go through because AppStation needs to process the payout without making any sort of mistakes with your payment information.

Earning Potential
Let’s not beat around the bush here…
Earning potential for AppStation is very low.
You’re not going to get rich, and you might not even be able to cover your lunch one time this week.
You can earn between 200-500 coins per minute (usually on the lower end of that) and you will usually stop earning as much after a certain amount of time with one game.
50,000 coins is worth around $5… so you can see why this may take a while.
This is the unfortunate reality of mobile gaming apps that pay, and AppStation isn’t an exception here.
Ultimately, the main takeaway is that you should not be downloading this app to make money and try out these new games that you may not even be sure that you enjoy.
Rather, you should only download AppStation if you already enjoy playing all these mobile games and you might as well make some extra cash from it.
If you’re not worried about the low pay rates and the amount of time it may take before you actually redeem your rewards, then this app is definitely for you.
If you spend a few hours playing mobile games, you can probably redeem a $5 reward every week or two…again, not a way to get rich, but passive income if you already game.
If you’re considering downloading this app, you should take advantage of the AppStation referral program.
If you refer friends to play, you will earn 250 coins per referral plus 25% of your friends earnings! Additionally, your friend will earn the exact same from your earnings!
This doesn’t take away from how much you’ll make. That percentage is considered extra earnings on top of what you each earn already.
AppStation Pros and Cons
It wouldn’t be a fair AppStation review without covering a few of the strengths and weaknesses of this platform.
If you’re still hesitant about downloading the app, take a quick look at the pros and cons of using AppStation to help you decide if this app is right for you:
Pros
If you already play mobile games, AppStation is worth considering.
Additionally, here are some of the main pros to look out for:
- Free app.
- No ads, premium features, or in-app purchases.
- Earn money for playing video games.
- Wide selection of games available.
- No skill required.
- Low minimum payout.
- Available around the world.
Cons
Despite being straightforward and having a decent selection of games, there’s some obvious downsides to AppStation we have to mention:
- Low earning potential.
- Long time to earn rewards.
- Coins-per-minute dwindle after playing awhile.
- Only available on Android.
- Less earning potential in countries outside of US & UK.
There are definitely more pros than cons to using AppStation if you’re a fan of gaming.
However, the cons are pretty significant and have a big role in helping you decide if it’s worth using.
Other Apps Like AppStation
If you’d like to take advantage of using multiple apps at the same time to maximize your earnings, here are a few other apps like Appstation…
- Mistplay – A loyalty program for mobile gamers available on Android devices. You earn rewards based on play time, in-game rank, and achievements. Mistplay is the largest mobile gaming app that pays you to play. Genres include strategy, card games, simulation games, survival games, and puzzles.
- Coin Pop – A nearly identical system to Mistplay and AppStation, Coin Pop is another huge app in this space to earn rewards with one of the largest selections of games. Checkout our Coin Pop review to learn more!
- Bananatic – Bananatic lets you earn rewards (or bananas as they call it) for playing video games and testing new games.
Out of all of these apps, Mistplay is probably the best option for Android gaming.
However, with Bananatic, you customize your preferences to choose your favorite genres of games to test.
This is a massive perk compared to many other platforms since you can actually play games you enjoy.
Is AppStation Legit? – Final Thoughts
In short, Yes… Appstation is completely legit.
You don’t have to take my word for it though.
If you spend a bit playing a few games, you should be able to get your first available payout and you can see the earnings for yourself.
If you have any Android phone, live in the US/UK, and already love spending hours playing mobile games then AppStation is definitely for you.
However, earning potential is extremely low, so keep this in mind as you game and don’t expect anything more than the occasional free gift card.
Now, if you’re not a huge mobile gaming fan and are just looking for more ways to make money, then there are plenty of other options for you that don’t involve low-paying video game apps.
The opportunity cost just simply isn’t there with these types of apps, so the only real payoff is the fact that you already love gaming.
As long as you have a realistic mindset when it comes to gaming this way, then I’m certain you’ll find your enjoyment learning new games, strategies, and ways to play with your friends!
Hopefully, our review of AppStation helps you understand how AppStation works and what you should expect in terms of earnings.
