Ease Of Use
What is Rewarded Play?
Rewarded Play is a free Android app that allows you to earn free gift cards for playing mobile games.
In a nutshell, you download games, reach certain levels, and earn points. These points can later be redeemed for gift cards.
Rewarded Play is available in the United States and Canada, but it’s growing into a fairly popular app in the space.
Currently, Rewarded Play has over 50,000 reviews on the Google Play Store and is rated at 4.2 stars (out of 5).
Keep in mind, this app isn’t going to make you rich, but it’s a great pass time to earn a few dollars here and there.
Consider downloading this app if you truly enjoy playing mobile games. Otherwise, it might not be worth your time.
How Does Rewarded Play Work?
If you want to make money or earn free gift cards with Rewarded Play, the process takes 4 simple steps:
- Install the app and sign up
- Download new mobile games and play them
- Earn points
- Cash out
That’s it! Each of these steps will be discussed further down below.
If you’re wondering how they make money, the games you’re downloading and playing are sponsored games on Rewarded Play’s app.
1. Install Rewarded Play & Sign Up
To install Rewarded Play, head over to the Google Play Store on your Android device and download the app to get started.
When you open the app, you’ll be prompted to input an email and accept their data agreement.
The data agreement is to ensure that you’re comfortable with Rewarded Play tracking your phone usage to see that you’ve completed the game achievements.
This is very standard in the world of gaming apps, so don’t be too alarmed!
Keep in mind that downloading all of these new games will take up data, but you can usually delete the games after achieving a certain level/milestone.
Once you’re signed up, take a look around the app and get ready to add some new games to your phone.
2. Download Games & Play
Once you download the Rewarded Play app, you see a wide selection of games to download after you’ve signed up on the home screen of the app.
If you already own some of these games on your phone, you’ll have to start a new one by downloading directly through the Rewarded Play app.
However, if you spot games you think are fun, you can download them and begin playing to earn.
Now, many other mobile gaming apps that pay work on a time system. This means you get paid a certain rate by the minute or hour.
Rewarded Play is different than these apps.
With Rewarded Play, you earn points based on achievements only. For example, you might have to reach level 5 or unlock a new item in a game in order to earn points.
Some users have complained that Rewarded Play doesn’t do a very good job of tracking your achievements. This can be incredibly frustrating if you grind out a level, only to find you’re not credited for your achievement.
So, be sure to double check that your points went through once in a while.
You can also contact their customer service if your points or gift cards aren’t going through properly.
3. Earn Points
When you complete different achievements in Rewarded Play, you earn points.
Rewarded Play refers to their points as “coins”. You’ll see them at the top right of your screen (in the shape of a star.)
You can also earn coins by spending money on in-app purchases for games you’re playing. However, that’s pretty counterproductive if you’re trying to make money with Rewarded Play.
Of course, there’s a way to earn points without spending a single dime. It just takes a lot longer.
Just note that games will get increasingly harder to complete and pay out less as you continue to get through the bulk of the games.
This is to keep you incentivized to play as many games as possible (which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it).
4. Cash Out
When you’ve reached the minimum points threshold, you can go and exchange your points for a free gift card.
The Rewarded Play minimum withdrawal amount is 45,000 points ($5) for the smallest gift cards.
This is pretty decent in the world of reward apps, but again, it will still take completing several achievements to reach your first reward.
You can choose to receive your gift card digitally or delivered straight to your door. If you go the digital route, you’ll receive it in your email.
Rewarded Play claims that you can easily receive your first gift card within 48 hours, and other Rewarded Play reviews state the company pays out and is legit.
Some users have even stated that they received close to $25 in gift cards pretty quickly (around a few weeks to a month).
Again, those earnings will slowly dwindle over time, so keep a look out for that!

There are 3 different categories to filter through in the “rewards” section of the app:
- By Preference
- By Brand
- By Popularity
When there’s a filter, that’s usually a good sign that there are a ton of gift card options to choose from!
Here are a few of the free gift cards you can redeem with Rewarded Play:
- Best Buy
I didn’t see any Paypal redemption option, so you can’t really get straight up cash for playing these mobile games.
This is a downside if you’re looking for a side hustle idea that pays real cash.
However, the gift card selection is pretty extensive, so if you spot a brand you already shop at, it’s similar to earning real cash.
You can also use points to spend on gaming-related purchases, like in-app purchases, free Steam games, skins, and more!
Rewarded Play Games List – What Games Can You Play?
When you head over the “games” section of the app, you’ll find a long list of games to choose from that you can download and play immediately.
Here’s a list of games on Rewarded Play:
- Bingo Blitz
- Wheel of Fortune
- Mystery Society
- World Series Poker
- Harry Potter
- Word Alchemy
- Pirate Kings
- Cookie Jam Blast
This app definitely favors card and board game genres, but these aren’t the only categories.
There are basically hundreds of games to choose from in practically every genre you can think of. Believe me, you’ll find a game that you enjoy playing on this app if you already enjoy mobile gaming.
Some games might be excluded depending on where you live, but the app is only available in the U.S. and Canada anyways.

How Much Does Rewarded Play Pay? – Earning Potential
Alright, time to break down one of the most important parts about our Rewarded Play app review: the earning potential.
The bottom line is Rewarded Play doesn’t pay you very much.
There simply isn’t enough rewards going around for mobile gamers to make a decent income from this, and your earnings also decrease slowly over time since it becomes harder to keep up with achievements in different apps.
You also have a cap of 5,000 points per day. Meaning, you can’t earn any more than that within 24 hours.
That means it would take a few days or two weeks to potentially earn a $5 gift card and likely a whole month to earn $25. Plus, these numbers are only true if you actually hit that number each day!
Just check out what this Rewarded Play user on Reddit had to say about the earning potential and process:
Income will only get slower with Rewarded Play, so consider trying some other money making ideas to make up for it.
If you really enjoy playing these games, then it will definitely be worth it for you because it’s kind of like earning passive income.
Otherwise, you’re not going to enjoy the gameplay or the earnings from it.
You can still make your first $5 or so in the first few days, so try it out yourself and see if you like the games at least.
