However, with Fetch Rewards eReceipts, you can now earn cash back for online purhases with Fetch Rewards, helping you save even more money!
So, if you want to learn how to use Fetch Rewards eReceipts to maximize your rewards, this is the post for you.

Fetch Rewards eReceipt Program – How It Works
The main way to earn rewards with apps like Fetch Rewards is to buy in-store products from partner brands, scan your receipt to provide proof of purchase, and then earn cash back.
While this is effective for snagging everyday savings from your weekly shopping trips, to save more money, you want to earn for your online purchases too.
Thankfully, with Fetch Rewards eReceipts, you can earn cash back for online purchases in just four steps.
1. Shop At A Fetch Rewards eReceipt Store
Regular Fetch Rewards works with hundreds of brands, but the eReceipts program is a bit more exclusive.
You can still earn Fetch Rewards points for dozens of brands however, and here’s the list of eligible eReceipt stores from Fetch Rewards’ website:
- Amazon (doesn’t include Subscribe & Save, Prime Now, Amazon Pantry, Amazon Pantry Fresh orders)
- Barnes & Noble
- Bath & Body Works
- Bed Bath & Beyond
- Best Buy
- BJ’s Wholesale Club
- Boxed Wholesale
- Costco Wholesale
- Food Lion
- Giant Eagle
- Giant Direct
- Google Express
- Harris Teeter
- Hobby Lobby
- JOANN Stores
- Lowes Foods
- Office Depot
- Panera Bread
- Rite Aid
- Sam’s Club (doesn’t include Sam’s Scan-and-Go purchases)
- Stop & Shop
- The Home Depot
- Thrive Market
- Tom Thumb
- Ulta Beauty
- Walmart (doesn’t include Walmart pay)
- Walmart Grocery
- Wegmans Food Markets
- Weis Markets
- Woodman’s Markets
As you can see, this is still an extensive list of stores you can earn online cash back from.
Plus, with some major companies like Amazon, Target, and Walmart on the list, you shouldn’t have a problem earning cash back.
2. Connect Your Email Account To Fetch Rewards
The Fetch Rewards eReceipt program needs to connect to your email account to redeem online shopping receipts.
This is because Fetch Rewards actually scans your inbox to look for online receipts instead of having you scan paper receipts like you would for normal in-store purchases.
Currently, Fetch Rewards eReceipts work for various email options, but the type of device you have influences what’s supported.
iOS eReceipt email options include:
Android eReceipt email options include:
Fetch Rewards states more email support is coming for Android, so make sure you have the latest version of the app!
To connect your email address to your Fetch Rewards account, here’s what you do:
- Tap the “Me” button in the Fetch Rewards app
- Tap on eReceipts
- Tap connect and then tap on the email button to begin the process of connecting your email account
You can also connect your Amazon account to eReceipts, but more on this later!
3. Shop & Scan Your Inbox
After you make an online purchase at an eligible Fetch Rewards eReceipt partner, check your email to see if the order and payment confirmation email came in your inbox.
Once you get that email, tap the blue eReceipt button at the bottom of the app that’s next to the regular camera button you use to scan paper receipts:
This button tells Fetch Rewards to scan the email address you connected to look for shopping receipts.
If Fetch Rewards finds an e receipt from a partner, you earn Fetch Rewards points like you would for in-store purchases.
4. Cash Out
Fetch Rewards eReceipt program pays you with the same Fetch Rewards points you would earn for in-store purchases.
So, this program is really a way to add to your total points balance more quickly and is an awesome way for online shoppers to earn more cash back.
As you earn Fetch Rewards points, you know the drill: you can redeem points at dozens of retailers for free gift cards, with many rewards just requiring 3,000 points (worth $3).
I really like eReceipts because with Fetch Rewards’ low redemption minimum, an online purchase or two can realistically help you redeem a free gift card to stores like Amazon, Best Buy, Starbucks, and Walmart.

Fetch Rewards eReceipt Eligibility & Rules
The new eReceipts program works with dozens of retailers.
But, there are still some rules about receipt eligibility like the normal app you should know so you redeem eReceipts in time to earn points,
Eligible Fetch Rewards eReceipts must be:
- No more than 14 days old
- From a supported retailer (see above list)
- Be from your original email address and not from a forwarded email
This last point is important and is also why you should connect the email you get the most shopping receipts from to Fetch Rewards to avoid this forwarding problem.
Common Problems People Have
If you follow all of the steps above but still can’t earn points from your e receipts, you might think this program doesn’t work at all.
Unfortunately, the reality of many online rewards programs is that they sometimes miss eligible purchases, causing you to miss out on cash back.
If you scan your inbox and still can’t earn from eligible receipts with Fetch Rewards eReceipts, here’s what you do:
- Tap on “Edit” under the eReceipts account option for your email address
- Tap disconnect account
- Uninstall the Fetch Rewards app
- Restart your phone
- Re-download Fetch Rewards
- Login to the app and reconnect that email address
- Scan your inbox again
Once you scan again, you can look for recent Fetch Rewards points under the “Activity” tab.
Fetch Rewards also advises clearing your cache if the above steps don’t work. Also note you can’t use a VPN with Fetch Rewards.
Hopefully, all of these tricks help sort out any problems you’re having so you can earn more cash back.
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are a few more answers to the common questions people have about how to make money with Fetch Rewards eReceipts.
1. Does Fetch Rewards Work With Amazon?
Fetch Rewards works with Amazon as part of the eReceipts program, letting you earn cash back for your Amazon purchases!
However, Fetch Rewards works for Amazon.com purchases but not special programs like Amazon Subscribe & Save, Prime Now, or Amazon pantry.
But, earning points is as easy as earning from other online retailers; simply connect your Amazon account to Fetch Rewards like you did for your email and you’re ready to earn cash back.

2. Why Does Fetch Rewards Want Receipts
Reward apps like Checkout 51 and Receipt Hog also ask you for receipts, and this is very common in the world of reward apps.
And, this isn’t for any invasion of privacy either; Fetch Rewards wants your receipts to provide proof you actually bought eligible products.
This is because Fetch Rewards earns cash back from the brands it promotes and then passes a portion of the cash back to you, the consumer.
It doesn’t steal credit card info or your personal info, it just needs to see what you’re buying.
So, it’s up to Fetch Rewards to help its partners verify your purchases so it isn’t paying cash back when you never even bought a partner product in the first place.

3. What Does Fetch Rewards Do With Your Receipts?
Fetch Rewards pays you points for uploading receipts after you buy eligible products.
As for what the company does with these receipts, your guess is as good as mine.
I assume receipts are saved to a database for verification/data tracking purposes. I wouldn’t be surprised if this data is then compiled into some sort of report and shared with brand partners.
However, I don’t have any privacy concerns with these types of receipt scanning apps, especially since your name doesn’t appear on a shopping receipt.

Other Ways To Earn Cash Back For Shopping Online
The new Fetch Rewards eReceipts program is awesome because it makes one of the best in-store rewards app even more robust.
But, while this rewards program is promising, it isn’t necessarily your best option for earning cash back for shopping.
In fact, numerous shopping browser extensions can often pay a higher percentage of cash back or even let you earn free Bitcoin if that’s your thing.
Some popular ways to earn rewards for online shopping include:
- Capital One Shopping: Automatically apply coupon codes and earn credits that are redeemable for various free gift cards!
- Honey: Like Capital One Shopping, Honey applies coupon codes at checkout, lets you compare prices, and lets you earn free gift cards.
- Lolli: Earn free Bitcoin for shopping online!
- Rakuten: Earn real cash-back rewards at thousands of partners when you shop online with Rakuten.
Rakuten is my personal favorite for online shopping, and I’ve earned over $800 by using the platform so far.
I like Rakuten the most since you get paid with real cash every quarter as long as you have $5 or more in your balance.
But, if you’re a crypto fan, something like Lolli or apps like Pei are definitely worth using since they pay you in BTC.
Anyway, the bottom line is that while Fetch Rewards online receipts are a great addition to the platform, don’t forget to look into other ways to earn cash back for your online purchases!
I will say though that one main advantage is that Fetch Rewards works with Amazon, which isn’t the case for almost any other reward app out there!
