What Is The Amazon Shopper Panel?
The Amazon Shopper Panel is an optional, invite-only program that lets you earn free Amazon money or donate money to charities for submitting receipts to Amazon and answering short surveys.
Currently, you can download the Amazon Shopper Panel app for Android or IOS and then enter your name and email into a waitlist.
This is currently being run in the United States, but don’t let the waitlist scare you: people have been submitting their names and getting accepted fairly quickly:
Plus, when a spot opens up, Amazon emails you so you know you’re in the program.
Now, it’s important to note that Amazon accepts receipts from outside Amazon, not receipts from your Amazon orders.
According to Amazon, this is done to “help brands offer better products and make ads more relevant on Amazon.”
How Does Amazon’s Shopper Panel Work?
If you get accepted into Amazon’s Shopper Panel, making money is actually pretty simple.
Here’s how the platform works:
- Amazon lets you upload 10 eligible receipts per month.
- Once you upload 10 receipts, you earn $10 in your Amazon.com balance or can donate the money to charity.
- You can also answer surveys each month that pop up occasionally for extra cash.
According to Amazon, most receipts for purchases within the past 30 days are eligible, including receipts from:
- Grocery stores.
- Drug stores.
- Department stores.
- Entertainment outlets like restaurants and movie theaters.
Receipts must be eligible and from within the U.S. to qualify.
Uploading through the app is pretty simple. You can also forward email receipts to receipts@panel.amazon.com as long as you email address associated with your Amazon.com account
Note that you can’t upload Amazon receipts or receipts from Whole Foods, AmazonGO, Amazon Books, and Amazon Four Star.
Once you submit a receipt, it gets reviewed for eligibility within roughly 6 hours. Receipts show as “in review” until they are confirmed.
Earning Rewards & Earning Potential
You need to upload 10 receipts to unlock your reward, so Amazon Shopper Panel is an all-or-nothing reward system.
However, a $1 per receipt is insane when you compare it to apps like ReceiptPal and Checkout 51 which generally pay under $1 per receipt you upload.
Besides, you don’t have to preselect rebates or do anything complicated…just shop, save your receipt, and upload it.
If you shop 10 times per month, this is basically $10 in free money, or $120 per year in free Amazon money!
The Amazon Shopper Panel also sends “short surveys about brands or products that may be of interest to you. For example, you might be asked how likely you are to purchase a product or what you think of an ad. You can choose not to complete surveys.”
Reward amounts vary for surveys, but they typically pay $0.25 to $1.00 per survey.
Plus, surveys only contain a few answers, which is different than most survey sites that ask you 100 questions and then disqualify you.
According to Amazon, the number of surveys you receive per month varies, but you get notified when there’s a new opportunity.
Ultimately, this means that the Amazon Shopper Panel probably pays around $120 to $150 per year if I had to guess, assuming you submit receipts every month and get a few surveys throughout the year.
Not bad for a receipt-scanning app!

Reward Options
As mentioned, you can redeem your Amazon Shopper Panel rewards for $10 per month to your Amazon balance.
This money automatically applies when you checkout or you can save it up and use it for later purchases on Amazon.
You can also choose numerous charities to donate the money to, including:
- Alzheimer’s Association.
- American Cancer Society.
- The Red Cross.
- Doctors Without Borders.
- Habitat for Humanity.
- Feeding America.
You choose your reward option when you signup for Amazon Shopper Panel.
Amazon sends 100% of your money to the charity of your choice.
If you choose Amazon Balance, you should receive your reward within 48 hours at the start of a new month, assuming you uploaded 10 receipts.
Is Amazon Shopper Panel Legit?
I actually found out about this program because it’s been going around on Reddit.
Overall, reception seems pretty positive!
The only gripe people seem to have is that sometimes they don’t realize they’ve been moved from the waitlist into the actual program.
As you can see though, it’s easy beermoney and a pretty solid way to save money on your next Amazon purchase.
Final Thoughts & Other Money-Making Ideas
At the end of the day, I’ve always been a fun of passive income apps and simple ways to make money with your smartphone.
A lot of these programs won’t make you rich, but hey, every little bit counts.
Besides, the Amazon Shopper Panel is actually one of the higher-paying reward apps I’ve seen.
I mean, $1 per receipt and a bunch of freebie surveys throughout the year for $120+ per year in free money is pretty decent…you can save up all that money for the year and then put it towards your Christmas shopping or something special for youself.
Now, if you’re sick of having no money and want to dent in your bills or start a lucrative side hustle, here are some other ideas you can consider:
- Delivering food for DoorDash or Postmates.
- Trying apps that pay you for driving.
- This list of side gig apps to start a side hustle.
- Starting a blog to make money.
Hopefully, our Amazon Shopper Panel review helps you score some freebies the next time you shop online! 🙂
Just remember, the next time you shop online, make sure you use a money-saving browser extension to save as much as possible!
