Does Fetch Rewards Steal Your Credit Card Info?
The answer is no, Fetch Rewards doesn’t steal your credit card information. This app doesn’t even ask for your credit card information or require it. All you have to do is shop at Fetch Rewards partners, snap a picture of your receipt, and upload it to the app to earn points and rewards.
It’s good to ask these questions whenever you try apps like Fetch Rewards. After all, sharing your personal information is no joke!
However, I have tons of experience with using these sorts of reward apps and side hustles and have never had an issue with Fetch Rewards.
Since going frugal over a decade ago, I’ve earned tens of thousands of dollars in income online. This free money has helped my family survive job layoffs, illnesses, and more over the years.
Not only can you make money with apps, you can do it without putting your personal information, including your credit card info, at risk.
I personally consider Fetch Rewards one of my favorite and safest apps. Here are some details why.
Is Fetch Rewards Safe?
Fetch Rewards is a safe and legitimate app that pays its users for buying products from its partners. It’s grown to the most popular U.S. rewards app with millions of users. The app has also paid out millions of dollars worth of free gift cards to its users and is very highly rated on the Android and iOS app stores.
I’ve used Fetch Rewards for several years and have never had an issue with safety or security. I’ve also been able to cash out my points for various gift cards numerous times and always get paid.
During that time I’ve had my credit card information stolen several times at in-person and online retailers.
However, none of that had anything to do with Fetch Rewards.
How do I know? Because Fetch Rewards does not need my credit card info for me to earn rewards. In fact, it doesn’t need any of your financial information, which is one main reason this app is so safe.
What Information Does Fetch Rewards Collect?
According to the Fetch Rewards Privacy Policy, here is the information it collects about users:
- Name
- Birth Date
- Email Address
- Billing Address
- Shipping Address
- Telephone Number(s)
- Any photo you provide for use as your profile
- Other information you provide us
In addition to these few details, Fetch Rewards does collect information about the products you purchase and the offers you take advantage of.
For example, if you purchase pet food items, it can use this data to recommend other pet related items. However, it doesn’t require credit card information or info from your bank account or debit card either.
The Fetch Rewards app does have a small amount of info including your name, phone number and email address. I’m OK with this because based on the number of telemarketing calls to extend my car’s warranty I get, most of the free world apparently has my information as well.
Fetch also has information on what you’ve purchased based on the receipts you submit. Do I care if they know I buy enough milk and yogurt for a small army and that my kids will only eat a certain brand of peanut butter? No, not really.
What I do care about is that by using Fetch Rewards, I make money online in seconds by submitting a receipt for things I would have purchased anyway.
However, if you are concerned by sharing this data on your family’s purchases, this might not be the app for you.
How Can You Keep Your Fetch Rewards Account Safe?
With any app or online website, there’s always a small risk of being hacked. To stay safe with Fetch Rewards, keep your log-in and password information private and don’t share them with others.
You should also verify your account via email. If you do feel your account has ever been compromised, be sure to change the password right away.
This is especially important if you use Fetch Rewards e-receipts and connect your email or Amazon account to your Fetch Rewards profile!
As someone who uses this app several times a week, I feel that the risks from Fetch Rewards are small. Since this reward app doesn’t require credit card information, there’s no risk of that information being stolen.
While I like to accumulate Fetch Rewards points to redeem for larger gift cards, if you have concerns about poins being stolen, I’d recommend redeeming them quickly for smaller rewards.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can You Get Scammed On Fetch Rewards?
You can’t get scammed on Fetch Rewards in the sense that you submit receipts and never earn points or gift cards. As mentioned, Fetch Rewards is a legit company that has a proven track record of paying users.
However, there are scams out there like fake Fetch Rewards referral code generators or people who try to abuse the referral program. These Fetch Rewards hacks don’t work, and if you sign up for any software that claims it gets you free points, you’re probably getting scammed.
What Does Fetch Rewards Do With Your Receipts?
When you submit a receipt to Fetch Rewards, the company collects data about the types of products you purchase and the stores you shop at. It ties this information to your demographic profile to gain insights on the types of products different consumer groups buy. It also receives small amounts of compensation from its partners for helping them gain additional customers.
Your information is amalgamated into large data sets, so it’s very anonymous. And again, Fetch Rewards doesn’t collect any financial information from you.
How Does Fetch Rewards Make Money?
Fetch Rewards makes money through affiliate fees for referring new customers to its brand partners. For example, if you complete a sponsored offer through Fetch Rewards that involves buying a 12-pack of Pepsi, Fetch Rewards earns a small amount of money from Pepsi for that sale. This is a similar model apps like NCPMobile, Checkout 51, Rakuten, and GetUpside use.
Final Thoughts
I have been using Fetch Rewards for several years and earn at least a couple hundred dollars a year in rewards without really trying. While the app does collect a little bit of personal information like the products you buy, none of it is invasive or puts your identity at risk.
Additionally, the app doesn’t steal personal information or even require financial information, so it’s very safe and legit.
While sometimes the reward is low, just 25 points per receipt, other times it is huge and I can earn several dollars back on a small purchase. Points add up quickly and I use my points for free gift cards for my family to dine out without hurting our budget.
One thing I do love about Fetch Rewards is that you can stack the savings with other rewards apps to save even more money.
By combining it with some of my other favorite money saving apps like Target Circle, Coupons.com, and Ibotta, I often get expensive items for very cheap, free or sometimes even make money purchasing them! This saves a great deal of money, especially with prices being so high right now.
In my personal opinion, Fetch Rewards is not only safe, but it is absolutely worth the few seconds it takes to submit receipts. The app is user friendly and the rewards, even the small ones can add up quickly. It’s one of my favorite apps to make money and I recommend it often to others who are trying to save money on groceries and other items.
