There are legitimately thousands of ways to begin making money online. But so many methods are incredibly saturated and simply aren't worth the effort anymore.
But, don't fret. There are still some secret websites to make money online that you can turn to that haven't run out of steam yet. Here are some of my all-time favorites.
Secret Websites To Make Money
Table of Contents
1. Freecash
The world is full of get-paid-to websites. But one newer player you might not have heard of yet is called Freecash.
This free rewards website is globally available. Once you sign up, you can then make money with a range of tasks. Cash surveys, watching videos, shopping online, and cash games are just a few examples.
This website has already paid millions to its first members. And it adds new ways to earn all the time.
The best part? You can cash out with dozens of gift cards, PayPal cash, crypto, and even video-game related rewards.
2. Missing Money
Did you know that the Government and other agencies sometimes owe everyday people money?
That's right: there's billions of dollars out there that's owed to everyday people. This happens when things like tax returns, grants, investment income, properties, and other types of assets are owed to someone but go unclaimed.
The great news is that you can use this free tool to see if there's unclaimed money and assets in your name.
This is for U.S. citizens, but it's a super simple way to check if there's some free money in your future. If you live outside the United States, you can check out my post on the top free money offers instead for some easy cash.
3. Five Surveys
Survey sites are a dime-a-dozen these days. But one brand new site almost no one has heard of is called Five Surveys.
This free website is super easy to use. Signing up just takes your email and is completely free. From there, you get paid $5 every time you complete five short surveys.
There's no confusing point system or low-paying surveys. Instead, it's $1 per survey you complete and then a fast cash out.
Five Surveys lets you redeem dozens of free gift cards. PayPal money and bank transfers are also available. Overall, this is one of the highest-paying sites in the survey space despite being new and less well-known.
Get started with Five Surveys!
4. Shopkick
One of my favorite U.S. rewards apps is called Shopkick. But despite how many ways this app saves people money, not everyone knows about it yet.
This free app is available on both Android and iOS devices. Once you download it, you then complete easy tasks to earn “Kicks” which is the platform's currency.
Examples of tasks you can complete to earn include walking into stores, taking photos of products, scanning barcodes or receipts, and watching videos.
The variety of offers is why I like Shopkick. Plus, you can cash out your kicks for free gift cards at just $2 to $3, which is quite low in the reward app space. And if you like this idea, you can try some Shopkick alternatives like GigWalk and FieldAgent to earn even more!
Pro Tip: Sign up with my code ‘TOW' and get a $5 bonus when you earn Kicks for the first time in-store.
5. Medium
If you enjoy writing, one secret site to make money you need to check out is called Medium.
This free blogging platform lets you publish content and get paid depending on how many members read your work. And it's actually one writing site I've used since college to earn some easy passive income.
My favorite part about Medium is that you don't have to worry about the technical side of things. Unlike blogging, which can be quite techy, Medium simply rewards talented writers who create compelling content.
I think it's a great side hustle to try alongside freelance writing. And Medium pays writers every month if they're a member of its partner program.
6. Crowdtap
Crowdtap is another U.S. survey app that a lot of people don't know about. But it's been around since 2009 and is a very easy way to earn some secret money on the side.
Once you're a member, Crowdtap sends you short surveys to complete about topics like shopping, health, and entertainment. You generally earn about $0.25 per survey, but surveys are only a few questions.
You can then cash out at $5 with a range of gift cards. And I like this app since surveys are so snappy so it's a nice way to get free cash whenever a survey becomes available.
7. Honeygain
Honeygain is a nifty way to earn passive income with your smartphone or computer. And that's because it lets you sell your internet bandwidth to other people to earn income.
This is a super simple hustle anyone can try. And the reason Honeygain wants your bandwidth is because it turns your IP address into a node in its residential VPN network.
I've tested Honeygain and similar platforms like Pawns over the years. And my favorite part is that you can set-and-forget this hustle once it's up and running.
Honeygain also pays you to PayPal or via JumpTask, an innovative cryptocurrency. To date, I've earned over $150 with Honeygain and think it's a leader in this passive income category for good reason.
8. PINCHme
Want free products and samples sent straight to your door? Then one secret money-making website you can try is PINCHme.
This is another U.S. website where you sign up to get free samples. All you have to do is sign up, complete your profile, and you can then claim free samples each month that interest you.
You have to give your feedback and complete short surveys for the samples you get. But PINCHme sends all kinds of goodies from popular brands. So, this is a nice way to get free everyday essentials, snacks, gadgets, and cleaning products right to your door.
9. Starter Story
One more secret website to make money you can turn to is Starter Story.
This website has over 2,500 case studies from successful founders, side hustlers, and entrepreneurs about how they found success. It lets you learn from real-life stories and industry experts in a variety of fields. And it's an excellent way to get a new business idea or to start your next side hustle.
This is a particularly useful site if you want to make money with ecommerce or some kind of online business.
And if you want even more ideas, you can check out Founder Reports, a similar site where I've actually been featured because of This Online World!
10. CashWalk
If you're an active person, then it's time to start getting paid.
All you have to do is use the CashWalk app for Android or iOS. This new and innovating app pays you to walk, letting you turn your daily steps into cash and gift cards.
The app is similar to apps like Sweatcoin and Miles and lets you turn your phone into a passive income stream. CashWalk simply tracks your steps and pays you with coins in exchange. You then turn those coins into gift cards once you earn $10 worth of coins.
This app won't make anyone rich. But it's a sneaky, secret way to earn a bit of extra money while getting active.
