Maybe you need to make $1,000 fast to pay off some bills or put aside for an emergency fund. Or, maybe you’re trying to make $1,000 in a day just to accelerate your income or to see if it’s even possible.
Whatever the case, if you’re wondering how to make $1,000 in 24 hours, this is the post for you.
There are a variety of methods to generate a significant amount of money in a short period of time.
I’ve personally managed to make $1,000 in a day or very short period of time with a few different side hustles over the years. And there’s plenty of other fast money-making ideas you can test out as well.
Hopefully, one of these ideas works out for you!
Let’s get to it!
How To Make $1,000 In 24 Hours
There are plenty of side hustle ideas out there that can help you make extra cash every month. For example, you can try delivering food for DoorDash or becoming an Instacart Shopper to make some cash.
But, a problem with most gig apps is that they only pay around $10 to $20 per hour, so it’s impossible to make $1,000 in a day.
So, if you want to learn how to make 1,000 dollars in 24 hours, you usually have to think outside the box and up the intensity a bit!
1. Sell Stuff You Own
While this might not be the most fun idea on this list of ways to make $1,000 in a day, if you need money fast, nothing really beats selling things you own.
Of course, the most classic way to do this is to just do some Spring cleaning, host a garage sale, and to sell stuff you don’t need to people in your neighborhood.
But, thanks to the power of the internet, you can also try a variety of other online selling methods to make money fast, including:
- Selling things on the Facebook Marketplace
- Using websites like Poshmark to sell your clothing and accessories
- Selling jewelry and watches online with marketplaces like Worthy
- Selling old electronics and phones on websites like Gizmogo
- Using apps like Mercari sell stuff you don’t need to people online or in your area
- Using local selling websites like Craigslist to get rid of some old stuff
Of course, you need to have some valuable assets to sell, but this is one of the fastest ways to make money if you’re in a pinch.
Commonly, people sell things like clothing, luxury goods, toys, books, and furniture on these sorts of marketplaces. In the past, I’ve made fast cash by selling clothing, furniture, and even an old guitar when I needed money back in college.
But, you can also get creative.
And if you don’t feel like selling your stuff outright, you can always try pawning things instead to make $1k in a day.
2. Design Websites For People
I think freelancing and selling your skills online is generally an excellent way to make decent money.
Personally, I’m a freelance writer, and there have been days where I’ve written the entire day and earned $500 to $750 or so.
This isn’t quite making $1,000 a day, but I firmly believe freelancing can set you on this path if you specialize enough.
Take website design for example. If you look on marketplaces like Fiverr for custom website designs, you can find plenty of sellers offering their services for over $1,000 per project.
And, these sellers get business.
Plus, speaking from experience, I actually paid someone over $1,000 in the past to redesign This Online World.
The project took some emailing back and forth and talking about the design, but in terms of actual technical work, it was nowhere near 24 hours.
The fact is that you can make a lot of money programming, especially if you offer custom solutions.
So, while this skill takes time to learn, I think this is one of the most realistic ways to make $1,000 in 24 hours that there is.
3. Ecommerce Store Launches
If you’re still wondering how to earn $1,000 in 24 hours, the answer might be ecommerce.
And, this is the perfect time for a cool story! I know someone who actually designs custom pottery and artwork for people, and she sells her goods through a Shopify store.
But, the cool part is that you can’t buy her products anytime you want: you have to wait for specific drops and buy the product you had your eye on before it’s gone!
This hype-based marketing strategy is the same concept massive brands like Supreme use to generate a feeling of exclusivity. Why can’t you do the same thing?
This is definitely a way to make $1,000 in a day, although you have to grow a following somewhere so you can effectively promote the drop.
My friend uses Instagram and announces the drop there, so this is a great place to start once you have your storefront up and running and have products you’re selling.
If you want to learn how to make $1,000 quickly, starting a blog isn’t for you. But, if you want to create an income generating asset that has the potential to earn $1,000 in 24 hours, I’d argue starting a blog is for you.
The thing about blogging is that it opens the door for some serious passive income from sources like affiliate marketing and display ads.
And in 2022, my blog grew to $92,000 in income, which is still crazy to me!
This is all semi-passive income, and more recently, there have been days of making $500 a day for the blog from just display ads, which is insane to see.
And, on several occasions, This Online World has actually made 1k in 24 hours between Mediavine income and affiliate sales:
Similarly, a lot of bloggers sell their own products or coaching plans, so blogging again opens doors for you to get creative and make some serious money.
Granted, I’ve been blogging for slightly over 4 years at this point, so this isn’t a route to make money quickly.
However, I think you can grow a blog into an income source that makes $1,000 in 24 hours, and even if it’s not quite that fast, the earning ceiling is insanely high here. And there are plenty of blogging niches you can explore, not just finance like my blog.
Besides, you can start your own blog with a host like SiteGround for under $10 a month.
This is the host I used to grow This Online World to my first 50,000 monthly readers, and it’s what I recommend for beginner bloggers to grow.
5. Offer Coaching Classes To Groups
In the past, I’ve also had a few coaching calls with people to go over Facebook and Google Ads, since those platforms were my life for about 5 years at my old job.
I charged $200 for an hour of the ads consulting, and I have yet to host a paid blogging call.
But, if there’s one thing that’s clear, it’s that people are willing to pay good money if you’re an expert at something.
And, one thing I’ve also learned is that group coaching is where the money is at.
I mean, instead of charging one person $200 per hour for an online coaching call, what if you charged 50 people $50 to attend an online seminar you’re hosting?
That’s $2,500 instead of $200, and spending $50 on an online event sounds much more reasonable to people.
This is how you scale an online coaching business, and it’s definitely something I want to experiment with in the near future. 😉
So, if you currently make money with coaching, I’d try switching up your style.
I firmly believe this can make $1,000 in a day if you have a wide enough reach to get enough sign ups.
Like online coaching, consulting is another way to make a lot of money in a very short amount of time.
Now, can you make $1,000 in a day as a consultant? Well, I definitely think so.
Both times, I charged a $1,000 to $2,000 monthly retainer or project-fee for clients, and all-in-all, I think each month had around 10 to 15 hours of work, so around $66 to $100 per hour.
This is honestly mid-level for SEO consulting, and I know a few people from my time in ecommerce who charge much more than this.
But this idea isn’t just limited to SEO. There’s a variety of other industries and departments that hire consultants, including:
- Strategy and business development
Again, you need to be an expert in your given field and likely have some sort of specialized knowledge to be valuable. But, if this is you, I think it’s worth reaching out to companies and your network to explore some consulting opportunities.
I’ve found all my SEO work from people I know, so ask around and keep meeting as many people as possible.

7. Sell Seasonal Products
While this isn’t the most consistent way to make $1,000 in 24 hours, if you currently sell products on marketplaces like Etsy, it might be time to consider some seasonal products.
The benefit of selling seasonal products is that if your product goes viral or does well, you can generate a surge of sales due to increased, temporary interest.
Etsy sellers do this all the time for holidays and events like:
- Father’s and Mother’s day
- St. Patrick’s Day
- The Super Bowl
And, you can tell this works. Just check out how this Etsy shop owner sold this St. Patrick’s day shirt over 3,000 times judging by the number of product reviews!
At $26.99, that’s over $80,000 in revenue, and you bet a lot of these sales would have come on the days leading up to St. Patrick’s day every year.
And you don’t have to stick to holidays or special events here.
There are people who make money selling memes based off of recent events, so you could take a political gaff or a trending meme and potentially turn it into a semi-viral product if you strike the right cord with consumers.

8. Ask For A Raise
While this isn’t the most direct way to make $1,000 in 24 hours, it’s technically one of the fastest ways to increase your annual income, assuming things go well.
According to Indeed, reasons to ask for a raise include:
- Taking on more responsibility at work
- Getting a promotion (this usually comes with a raise, but not always!)
- Being with the company for several years
Now, a rule of thumb is to be at a job for at least 6 months before asking for a raise.
Additionally, another soft rule is to only ask for a raise once a year.
Whatever the case, know the number you’re aiming for before you ask, and articulate why and how you provide value to the company before asking.

9. Sell An Online Course
Like ecommerce product drops, dropping an online course is another way to make $1,000 or more in a day or even more, provided you have the audience for it.
I see bloggers and YouTubers do this all the time: they create a new course, they build the hype around it, and they drop the course on a day (usually at a discount) to encourage people to buy over the next 24 hours.
People also sell courses through platforms like Udemy to keep things simple and fast.
This is actually quite a production, right down from creating the course to generating hype through social media and email marketing.
But, if you’re currently blogging or YouTubing and don’t have a course to sell, it might be time to change that!
I actually have a course coming out later this year for that same reason, and I definitely think there’s a lot of money on the table in education.
10. Enter & Win Competitions
Now I know what you’re thinking: entering competitions isn’t a reliable way to make $1,000 in a day.
And you know what, you’re probably right.
But here’s the thing: there are so many scholarships and competitions that take place every year that end up cancelling because no one enters them.
This is especially true for scholarships and student competitions, where money sorta just floats around waiting to be claimed.
And sometimes, even competitions that have entrants are a walk in the park.
I’ll give you an example: in my last year of college, a marketing competition called Canada’s Next Top Ad Exec was going on in Canada.
You had to create a marketing plan for Home Depot, and the first 25 teams got $1,000 in Home Depot gift cards. From there, the top 10 teams competed for $25,000.
Anyway, I was sitting in my marketing lecture as the prof was describing this competition, and suddenly he said “the previous year had 70 teams enter” or something like that.
I was shocked, so I went home, spent an hour writing some crappy, 2-page marketing proposal, and submitted it. How hard would it be to place in the top 25 in a group of marketing kids anyway?
Well, that was the easiest $1,000 I ever made.
The fact that I made money in an hour might sound surprising, but stuff like this happens all the time.
So, try entering writing competitions to make money as a creative writer, or graphic design contents, or just applying to scholarships if you’re in school.
You never think you can win these things, but that’s how everyone thinks, so barely anyone enters!

11. Sales Jobs
Another category of jobs that has the potential to make a lot of money very quickly are sales jobs.
Specifically, sales jobs that pay commission are another way to make $1,000 in a day, or even more, depending on the product or service you’re selling and how well you do.
Personally, I love commission work, and the first job I had out of school was at an advertising agency that had a low starting salary but paid us around 10% to 20% of the profits we generated.
During awesome advertising periods, like Black Friday and Christmas, there were a few times I got close to or surpassed making $1,000 in 24 hours when a particular campaign went super well.
That’s just one example, but according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, some of the top commission-based sales jobs include:
- Sales engineers
- Wholesale and manufacturing sales representatives
- Financial sales agents
- Advertising sales agents
- Insurance sales agents
- Travel agents
Of course, other jobs like being a real estate agent or car salesperson are other examples, but you get the idea.
If you like working with people and are charming, commission jobs are another way to make $1,000 fast you can consider.
12. TikTok & YouTube
I was a bit hesitant to put this idea on the list of how to make $1,000 in a day since making this much money in such a short amount of time with TikTok or YouTube requires a lot of luck.
But, you can’t deny that TikTok and YouTube have some of the highest potential for content creators who are looking to go viral.
I mean, a single viral video on YouTube can pay you thousands or tens of thousands of dollars.
I learned this first-hand with my own YouTube channel, where one of my videos on making money online as a teenager went semi-viral and is now approaching 600,000 lifetime views.
That video took about 3 hours to make and has earned almost $7,000 since it went live.
Of course, this isn’t making $1,000 fast since it took over a year for the video to reach this many views, but some YouTube videos go viral in just a day or matter of days.
TikTok follows a similar premise.
If you’re selling a course, product, or marketing your brand, a single viral TikTok video can lead to thousands of visitors to your website and, ultimately, a spike in conversions.
Personally, if I was selling a product to people, I’d be on TikTok right now.
There’s also a lot of other ways to make money with TikTok, from going live and accepting donations to earning small amounts of ad revenue.
In this video, Charlie Chang, a popular finance YouTuber, breaks down the different ways to make money on TikTok and how he made money on the platform himself.
Again, I don’t think this path to make $1,000 in one day is very likely, but the potential is there, especially for YouTube in my opinion!

13. Flip NFTs
One final idea to make $1,000 in 24 hours is to buy NFTs and flip them for a profit.
People have been doing this over the last few years, and the idea is to buy hot new NFTs as they’re released on marketplaces like OpenSea and to then resell them shortly thereafter.
Savvy crypto investors have done this with various altcoins as well, but the NFT space lends itself well to flipping because of how exclusive some drops are.
Granted, I think is is a risky flipping idea, and you need to research NFT projects very deeply so you know which ones are potentially worth buying.
But hey, if you’re into crypto and DeFi, you can consider dabbling in NFTs.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. How Can I Make $1,000 Immediately?
There isn’t really a way to make $1,000 immediately by side hustling or selling things you own.
If you need $1,000 right now, your best options are:
- Trying to take out a loan
- Turning to family or friends
- Seeing if you can get an advance on your paycheck
You can also check out companies like Zippyloan that provide fast access to loans of $1,000 or even more.
My only advice here is to avoid costly things like payday loans at all costs since the interest rates on these loans can be very hard to pay off in the long run.
2. What’s The Best Way To Make $1,000 In A Day?
The answer to this question really depends on your current starting assets and skills.
For example, if you have loads of stuff you don’t use, selling things you own is probably the fastest way to make $1,000.
In contrast, if you have a specific set of skills, something like consulting or a commission-based job makes the most sense.
For me, I’m sticking to blogging, YouTube, and freelance writing to make as much money as possible these days, so it’s important to play to your strengths!
3. How Can I Make $1,000 In Passive Income?
In my opinion, blogging and YouTube are the most realistic way to earn $1,000 in passive income.
Again, this is a balancing act between active and passive income since both blogging and YouTube take significant upfront work to begin generating revenue.
But, as you develop systems to outsource more work, both businesses become increasingly passive, and you can earn $1,000 per month or more.
Of course, there are other ways to make $1,000 in passive income, including:
- Investing in real estate with companies like Fundrise.
- Investing in dividend-paying stocks with brokerages like M1 Finance.
- Renting out things for money, like a spare room on Airbnb or spare space on Neighbor.
Choosing the right idea depends on your starting capital and goal, but these are all viable in my opinion!
4. How Can I Make $1,000 In 3 Days
To make $1,000 in 3 days, you need a side hustle that can pay about $333 per day. In my opinion, looking for cash gigs on websites like Craigslist is the best way to start out since you can find high-paying jobs like:
- Junk removal
- Handyman help
- Snow removal
- Cleaning gigs
It might be tough to reach $1k, but you can find some very lucrative gigs.
Using gig apps like DoorDash could also work, provided you’re willing to work 10 to 12+ hours per day for the three days and also get a bit lucky with high-paying orders.
I hope our guide on how to make $1,000 in 24 hours helps you reach your financial goal as quickly as possible.
This is honestly a lot of money to make in a very short amount of time, but I think all of the methods in this list have the potential.
Additionally, don’t forget to play some financial defence as well to reach this goal faster!
Anyway, best of luck in your goal to make $1,000 today!
