UpVoice Review – Do You Actually Make $75 For Just Browsing The Web?

October 3, 2020

Recently, I published a S`more app review, breaking down one of my favorite passive income apps which makes it easy to earn $50+ per year just for running an app on your smartphone.

I’ve always loved these sorts of programs, and I’m on even more of a passive income binge these days.

Currently, I’m running and testing a bunch of different apps on my burner Android phone, some of which might get their own review in the future!

But, I know passive income apps aren’t for everyone. Maybe you don’t have a spare phone laying around and don’t feel like bloating your personal phone with reward apps.

Well, thankfully, you’re in luck! It’s now possible to earn $75 per year without doing anything with your computer (not a smartphone) just by joining UpVoice.

As long as you don’t mind selling your data, UpVoice lets you make money by using your computer as you normally would.

Time to break down exactly what Upvoice is and how to get started in my official UpVoice review!

Alternatively, signup for UpVoice and earn $75 in free gift cards per year!

EDIT – Facebook has recently sued UpVoice and had it removed from the Chrome store! Please ensure this extension has been uninstalled and read the section “Facebook Sues UpVoice” down below for more information. I am sorry about this news and anyone who previously installed UpVoice! – Tom.

What Is Upvoice?

Upvoice

In a nutshell, UpVoice is a research panel that lets users earn money just for browsing the web.

Of course, nothing is truly free, and UpVoice is really paying you for collecting market data.

According to UpVoice:

“UpVoice is the user panel of an innovative market research firm that helps top brands make better marketing decisions. By being an active member of our elite panel community, you are making a direct impact on how multi-billion dollar corporations promote their brands online.”

UpVoice states that by becoming a panel member, you can earn at least $75 per year in free gift cards without having to do anything. As you can tell, this sort of this is right up my alley at This Online World.

I don’t know about any of this ‘elite panel community’ nonsense, but hey, $75 of free gift cards definitely catches my attention.

The real question is if UpVoice is legit and how this market research panel even works.

How UpVoice Works – Getting Started

Making money with UpVoice doesn’t take much effort. In fact, you can become an UpVoice panel member in 3 easy steps:

1. Signup For UpVoice

If you have a Facebook account, you can signup for UpVoice just by connecting via Facebook within a single click from the website’s homepage.

This prompts you to also fill out an application form. You also need an active Facebook account to join UpVoice.

Upvoice-signup

Note that you must also live in the United States to join UpVoice. You also have to be 18 years or older.

A lot of negative UpVoice reviews come from this part of the process because people submit this form and then just get declined.

This is because research groups aren’t always interested with hearing from certain demographics. This is why online surveys aren’t usually worth it and users get disqualified all the time.

According to UpVoice:

“Your participation in any Panel conducted by BrandTotal is subject to certain eligibility criteria applicable to the Panel, such as: your age, location and other relevant demographic information. If BrandTotal decides that you are not eligible to participate in the Panel, you may not participate until such time that BrandTotal decides, at its sole discretion, that you are eligible and notified you or your eligibility.”

So, long story short, you either get in and stay in or you don’t!

2. Install The UpVoice Extension

If you’re accepted into UpVoice, the next step is to install the browser extension.

UpVoice-panel

UpVoice is available on Google Chrome and Edge browsers.

Once you have the extension and ensure it’s active (it will be colored when active and gray-scale when you’re signed out,) you’re ready to start earning passive income through UpVoice.

3. Browse The Web

How-Upvoice-Works

The entire point of UpVoice is to pay users for collecting data as they use the internet.

However, UpVoice only pays members in Tokens, the platform’s currency system, when they browse the following websites:

  • Facebook.
  • Twitter.
  • YouTube.
  • LinkedIn.
  • Amazon.

You must also disable your ad blocker to earn points for browsing the web with UpVoice.

How Much Does UpVoice Pay?

UpVoice states that as long as you visit any of these websites at least once per day, you can earn at least $75 per year for your efforts.

Let’s see how the actual math works out here.

Well, first thing to note is that 600 UpVoice Tokens equal $10. This is also the lowest cashout amount possible.

Here’s what UpVoice states about their payment system:

  • Signup Bonus – You earn a 300 ($5) signup bonus for signing up for UpVoice.
  • Browsing – You earn 10 tokens per day for visiting at least one or more of the participating sites. This is $0.16, which isn’t bad for just using your computer!!
  • Milestone Bonuses – You earn bonus tokens for reaching certain amounts of tokens. For example, you earn 240 tokens when you reach 2,100 tokens.

UpVoice-tokens

I haven’t been using UpVoice for too long, but I work from my laptop everyday and have been getting tokens since installing the extension.

UpVoice also makes it easy to track your weekly earnings to ensure you hit your 70 tokens per week:

UpVoice-statistics

70 tokens per week is equal to 3640 tokens.

This equals $60.

If you factor in the extra 550 bonus tokens currently available in milestone payments, this is another $9.

And, since you get a $5 signup bonus…boom, there’s your free $75-ish dollars in annual earnings just by using UpVoice!

UpVoice is legit. After testing this extension for a few weeks and cashing out my first $10 reward, I can confirm that UpVoice pays on-time and the process was very simple:

A $10 free Amazon gift card from UpVoice.

Just remember to check the email you signed up with to look for your gift card code! All in all, this took roughly 5 days from redemption to getting the gift card.

Other Ways To Earn Tokens On UpVoice

UpVoice states you can earn $75 or more by using their research panel, so that begs the question: how else do you make money with this thing?

Well, there are 2 additional ways.

The first is by answering surveys. UpVoice states they may occasioanlly send surveys your way, and you can answer these for extra tokens.

Not for me, but if you’re close to cashing out, this could be worth it.

The second way to make money with UpVoice is through their referral program.

UpVoice-referral

If you refer a friend to UpVoice, you get 300 Tokens ($5) and your friend enjoys their $5 signup bonus.

You can refer up to 20 users, but you only get your 300 Token bonus once your referral earns their first 100 Tokens in addition to their signup bonus. No gaming the system here!

This is still a pretty decent referral program, so if you signup for UpVoice, invite a friend or 2 to maximize the free passive income everyone gets!

Reward Options

As mentioned, you can cashout once you reach 600 Tokens in your account.

Currently, UpVoice members can cashout through a variety of free gift cards, including to merchants like:

  • Amazon.
  • Uber.
  • Prepaid Visas.
  • Adidas.
  • AMC Theatres.
  • eBay.
  • Best Buy.
  • GameStop.
  • Burger King.
  • Starbucks.
  • Google Play Credits.
  • Nike.
  • Sephora.
  • Target.

The list is pretty extensive!

You can checkout the complete list of free gift card options to see if there’s a merchant you like, but I’d say your odds are good!

Is UpVoice Safe?

Whenever you sell your data, it’s important to know what you’re getting into.

I’ll summarize a bit of info about what data UpVoice collects, but I also recommend reading their privacy policy.

In short, here is the data UpVoice collects:
  • Basic demographic information (from signup).
  • Non-personal data such as: age, gender, location, interests, and the ads you are exposed to while browsing participating sites.

UpVoice states that all data is anonymous and amalgaated, as is standard practice for these sorts of platforms.

The main thing to know is that by installing UpVoice, you give them permission to monitor the ads you see online. That’s pretty much all they care about…or so they say, anyway.

Facebook Sues UpVoice!!

Edit: 2020/10/03 – Facebook has sued UpVoice and another extension for scraping user data without their knowledge or permission!

Facebook-sues-Upvoice

As a result of this lawsuit, UpVoice has now been removed from the Chrome store.

This lawsuit is certainly unfortunate, and I apologize to anyone who installed the UpVoice extension and feels as if their data was sold against their knowledge.

The risk of the world of beermoney is often that companies do shady things, and this is why it’s always important to consider the value of your data and what you get for selling it.

I’m deeply sorry that UpVoice was promoted on This Online World. The extension paid out on time and had high-praises from Reddit, but alas, it seems we have been dupped.

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m goingto start wrapping up this UpVoice review by addressing some of the most common questions about this platform.

1. Who Can Use UpVoice?

You must be over 18 and live in the United States to qualify for this panel. However, this doesn’t garautee the panel cares about your specific demographic group (sorry).

You must also have an active Facebook account.

2. Why Don’t I Earn Tokens?

There are a few reasons you UpVoice might stop working. These include:

  • Having an ad blocker running.
  • Being logged out of the UpVoice extension.
  • You haven’t visited a participating site.
  • You need to wait longer – Tokens take 10 minutes to credit.

3. What Devices Does UpVoice Work On?

UpVoice only works on computers, so no mobile devices.

Furthermore, you must use the Google Chrome or Edge browser to install and use UpVoice.

Other UpVoice Reviews

There’s less than 10,000 installations on the Google Chrome store for this panel, so this is admittedly somewhat sketchy (do you see the risks I take in the name of science!?!)

Regardless, most UpVoice reviews are pretty popular, and the panel is quickly becoming a solid recommendation on various Reddit communities like Reddit Beermoney.

Upvoice-reddit-reviews

Understandably, the most negative or frustrated comments come from people who just can’t get into the panel, be it their demographics or the fact they don’t live in the U.S.

negative-review

The way I see it, if you’re over 18, have a Facebook account, and are always on the internet, you might as well give UpVoice a try to see if you get into the panel!

Final Thoughts – How To Build An Easy Passive Income Setup

It’s still mind-boggling to me just how much free money is available for installing a few simple apps and programs.

Here’s what my current passive income setup is looking like these days:

  • UpVoice – Probably $50-$60 per year (I won’t answer surveys).
  • MobileXpression – It’s finally working on my phone again, so maybe $30-$40 per year.
  • Mobile Performance Meter – $36.50 per year.
  • S`more App – $36.50 per year.
  • Honey Browser Extension – I have a tonne of referrals so it’s kinda cheating, but I’ve saved about $20-$30 outside of referrals from this money saving browser extension.
  • Rakuten – Again, I have over $300 in referrals from Rakuten, but it’s still an easy way to earn cashback whenever you shop online.
we-wants-it-meme

Me finding another passive income app lol.

If you add all of these free apps and websites together, you’re easily looking at $150 to $200 per year in either free money or cashback.

Granted, you need an Android phone for some of these programs, but even still…you can make some fun pocket money or cover a lot of birthday shopping with these programs!

Ultimately, I’m pretty excited to see how much I actually end up making with UpVoice. If you use the computer everyday and are comfortable selling your data, you might as well try out UpVoice to score some free gift cards.

The process is quick, simple, and proven to work by other users. I’ll be updating this post in a few weeks with my first cashout as well 🙂

Edit 2020-05-31: UpVoice is legit and pays out rewards. See above screenshot. UpVoice takes a few days, but this company does pay.

I’ve been addicted to these sorts of platforms ever since my phone farming days, and I’m happy to say that it looks like the future of these simple passive earners is alive and well!

Hopefully you get into the panel if you decide to try out UpVoice to earn the easiest $75 of your life.

Thanks so much for reading! If you currently use UpVoice or have tried a similar website, I’d love to know about your experiences in the comments!

Catch you guys in the next one.
