One of the most popular recommendations for making money online is to use paid survey sites. And if you’re looking for an easy way to earn some extra cash or gift cards without experience, this can be a great idea.
However, there are hundreds of different paid survey sites out there. And while many promise rewards, very few are actually worth your time.
One popular option when it comes to doing online surveys is Survey Club.
But is Survey Club legit? And is it actually worth your time?
I tested out the platform to find out, and I’m covering everything you need to know in our Survey Club review.

What Is Survey Club?
Survey Club is an American based survey company that has been in business since 2005. One of the original sites offering online members, they have a large user base and long history of survey research. The site offers their own surveys to users, and also aggregates potential surveys from other survey sites.
What are the requirements to join Survey Club?
Well, participants with Survey Club need to be at least age 16 or older and reside in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada or Australia. It’s a fairly global survey platform since many companies are only available in one country.
Depending on their demographics, Survey Club users can receive anywhere from a few surveys a week to several surveys a day. However, Survey Club states that survey takers in the United States get more surveys than users in other countries.
How Does Survey Club Work?
Survey Club is user friendly and easy to get started. I found signing up was quite simple, and the entire process takes five steps:
- Sign up to become a Survey Club member
- Complete a sign-up questionnaire
- Find available surveys to take
- Complete surveys to earn cash
- Cash out
Signing up doesn’t take very long. And the questionnaire you complete mostly asks about your age, race, where you live, and your education. You also answer some questions about your consumer preferences, like what kind of car you drive and what phone you own.
You have to answer this questionnaire because this is how Survey Club matches you to more relevant surveys. This is the same process sites like Prolific and Grindabuck use to give out survey opportunities.
Once you finish the questionnaire, you can find available survey opportunities through your Survey Club dashboard.
It’s worth noting that Survey Club is a survey aggregator, not an independent research company. This means it simply matches people with surveys from other panels that you can complete to make money.
Cash you earn deposits in your account after you successfully complete a survey. Once you earn $25, you can cash out your earnings.
Just note that since Survey Club shares your information with other survey sites, you may see an increase in emails. While these emails do mean more paid opportunities, they can also fill your inbox rather quickly.
To prevent this, I always recommend using a secondary email address (such as a free one from Gmail), for surveys so that you don’t overwhelm your main email account. This can also help you keep opportunities separate and easy to spot so that you don’t miss any that you might want to apply for.
How Much Does Survey Club Pay?
Pay for Survey Club opportunities vary. Most surveys pay $1 to $3 for around 10 to 15 minutes of your time. Some users have reported surveys paying less than $1 for individual surveys.
And as you can see from my dashboard, all of the available surveys I can take say “special” for how much they pay. This is actually very frustrating since I have no way of knowing how much a survey pays before I spend my time on it.
On the bright side, there are some limited higher paying opportunities on Survey Club, including focus groups. One of the opportunities on my Survey Club dashboard is for a $115 focus group on food. Some users also report longer survey opportunities (such as those requiring you to keep a diary) that pay better as well.
Survey Club Rewards & Cashing Out
A $25 redemption minimum is very bad for the world of paid survey sites. For example, competitors like Survey Junkie and Branded Surveys both let you cash out at just $5. And some beermoney sites like Swagbucks have rewards starting at just $1.
Is Survey Club Legit?
Survey Club is a legit website that has been in business for over 15 years. It also has millions of members and there’s plenty of payment proof online. Plus, it has a 3.6 star rating out of 5 on TrustPilot.
However, like I just mentioned, Survey Club has a very high minimum redemption requirement. And the lack of transparency for how much surveys pay is annoying and misleading.
Other common complaints about Survey Club include low payouts per survey, not receiving enough surveys to make payout, and points expiring before they can be redeemed.
So yes, Survey Club is a legitimate company. But at This Online World, we don’t think it’s a very good survey site or worth using at this time.
Is Survey Club Safe?
Is Survey Club a scam? No, in my opinion, Survey Club is safe. They have been a long time provider of online survey opportunities and have many users that take surveys on their site regularly.
That being said, be sure to use a level of caution when providing your information to a survey website, or anywhere online. The amount of information you provide can depend on what you are comfortable with, but use common sense and never provide your bank account information, Social Security Identification number or passwords to anyone online. When taking payments, use a safe payment method such as PayPal or gift cards.
Other Survey Club Reviews
I signed up and tried out Survey Club, and because of the $25 cash out requirement and lack of transparency, I wasn’t a huge fan.
But as mentioned, it has a 3.6 star rating on Trustpilot, so some people like Survey Club. That’s why it’s useful to check out other reviews to get a few more opinions.
In this video from YouTuber Internet Marketing Reviews, you get another look at how Survey Club works and why it’s not necessarily the best choice out there.
In this video, the reviewer explains how there’s a high cash out requirement and some of the surveys barely pay anything.
So in our opinion, you should skip using Survey Club. But use your own judgement to decide if it’s worth it for you.
Pros & Cons
Like any website, Survey Club has both positives and negatives about its service.
- Survey Club is available in several countries.
- PayPal cash is a reward option.
- There’s a Survey Club referral program that pays you small bonuses for inviting your friends.
- Low earning potential.
- A high $25 minimum cash out requirement.
- Spam is possible due to this site connecting with multiple other sites. I recommend using a secondary email so that these messages do not clog your main inbox.
- Lack of earning options versus some other survey sites.
The Best Survey Club Alternatives
While Survey Club may be one of the original survey groups out there, there are some more recent alternatives that offer better opportunities and more rewards.
Some of the best sites like Survey Club you can use include:
- Branded Surveys – A leading survey platform that offers PayPal and free gift card rewards.
- Survey Junkie – With over 10 million users, this online community offers cash payments via PayPal and digital gift cards in exchange for sharing your opinions.
- Swagbucks – Make money by answering surveys, playing games, shopping online, watching ads, and more.
- Mistplay – One of the best ways to earn free gift cards for playing new Android games.
These sites aren’t going to make you thousands of dollars. But for a quick $10 to $50 a month in your spare time, you can try out these various platforms.
Just don’t spend too much time here since the opportunity cost of answering surveys all day is also a cost.
But for a nice and easy side hustle, you can use these Survey Club alternatives while watching TV or relaxing.
Completing surveys online is a legitimate and easy way to earn income online. While the earnings you make won’t be huge, if you complete surveys during times you’d normally be doing nothing else like watching TV, it can still pay to participate in these side hustles.
I’ve used a lot of different survey sites that pay over the years and made a nice little nest egg from them.
Where does Survey Club fit? While it is not one of my top favorites, Survey Club does provide legitimate survey opportunities. However, its high cash out requirement is a massive downside.
Additionally, taking surveys is one of the less lucrative side hustles out there.
In any case, I hope our Survey Club review helps you decide if this paid survey platform is worth using or not.
