Have you ever wondered how brands get feedback from customers about their products before launching? Well, oftentimes, these brands rely on product testing.
Decades ago, product testing might have only been done in corporate offices. But these days, plenty of companies are willing to send products to people around the country for testing.
So, if you’re looking for a new side hustle and want to get paid to review products, you’re in luck.
In this post, I’m covering some of the best ways to test products for money or to receive free products in exchange for your reviews.
Let’s get to it.

How To Get Paid To Review Products
If you want to make money from home, product testing can be a fun and rewarding opportunity. Not only do you get free products that might not yet be in stores, but you can also earn quick money for sharing your opinion.
I’ve gotten loads of free stuff over the years from these sorts of testing gigs. And it’s a fun, easy way to make extra money in exchange for your reviews.
Just note that some of the methods I’m covering to get paid for product reviews just pay you with free stuff. However, some methods also pay you with cash or gift cards for your reviews.
1. Product Review Jobs
When it comes to getting paid to review products, Product Review Jobs is one of the most popular platforms out there.
This company doesn’t actually own the products it sends you. Instead, it works with dozens of brands to send its members products. Then, its members test the products and provide feedback to get paid.
Some of the ways you can earn money for reviewing products include:
- General product testing
- Scanning your shopping receipts
- Participating in trials and focus groups
According to its website, Product Review Jobs pays $25 per product test on average. And you generally get to keep the merchandise you receive as well.
Ultimately, this is a very reputable way to write reviews for money. And it’s completely free to sign up for as well.

2. NCP Mobile
Another excellent way to make money reviewing products is to use the NCPMobile app.
This popular reward app pays you for sharing information and opinions about the products you buy. All you have to do is scan barcodes from your purchases and then share information about your shopping experience to earn.
NCPMobile also asks you to share additional information from your shopping trips like if it was an online purchase, which store you shopped at, and if you used a loyalty card at checkout.
You receive points for sharing this data. Points are redeemable for prizes like free electronics, appliances, and free gift cards.
Generally, it takes about 20 to 40 scans for you to redeem your first prize. But in terms of getting paid to review products, NCPMobile barely takes any work, so it’s essentially free money.
You can download NCPMobile for Android or iOS to get started.
3. TryProducts
TryProducts is another popular product testing gig for U.S. individuals that’s fairly similar to Product Review Jobs.
With TryProducts, you apply to receive products in the mail completely for free. In exchange, you write a review and leave feedback about the products to help brands improve.
TryProducts works with hundreds of brands, and examples of free products you can get include:
- Beauty products
- Cleaning supplies
- Ingredients
- Snacks
- Health products
Again, this isn’t a direct way to get paid to review products since you’re just getting free stuff instead of cash.
However, brand variety is a selling point, and getting free stuff can help you save more money over time if you’re getting products you might normally buy.
4. Product Testing USA
Have you ever wanted to get paid to review high-end products? In this case, Product Testing USA offers testing opportunities for tablets, vacuums, tools, appliances and other expensive merchandise.
All the company asks in return are in-depth reviews which can include photos, a long description of how you use the product, or a short video testimonial.
When you apply to test a product with this site, opportunities are not guaranteed. However, it’s one of the best ways to review products for money since the products are actually pretty expensive and would make excellent gifts as well.
Examples of products you can test with Product Testing USA include:
- Fifa 23 for Xbox or PlayStation
- Bose QuiteComfort Earbuds
- Theragun Mini
- Apple Watch Series 8
- FitBit Charge 5
- Samsung Galaxy Flip 4
As you can see, a lot of this merchandise costs hundreds of dollars.
Testing requirements are more in-depth, and you might have to make a video. But this is one of the more lucrative ways to test products for money if you’re willing to put in the work.
5. PINCHme
Like TryProducts, another way you can get paid to test products is to use PINCHme, a popular sampling site.
PINCHme is basically the same as TryProducts and lets you get free stuff in exchange for your feedback and reviews. There’s no payment requirement, and you don’t need to submit credit card information to become a member.
You have to claim available samples that you want each month before they run out. But PINCHme works with dozens of brands and gives its members stuff like:
- Beauty products
- Food and drinks
- Home and family products
- Personal care items
- Pet supplies and toys
Again, you’re just sharing your feedback in exchange for free stuff. You can complete sponsored shopping offers to earn coins, which are redeemable for prizes. However, this involves spending money, and the prizes aren’t too great.
Overall, PINCHme is worth adding to your list of sites to get paid to review products if you want more free goodies and don’t want cash payments.
6. FocusGroup.com
If you want a variety of earning methods, then FocusGroup.com is another product testing gig you should have on your radar.
This website lets you make money by completing paid surveys, online focus groups, paid interviews, and in-person focus groups. And it even has paid shopping opportunities where you go shopping in-person with one of their representatives who takes notes and feedback on your experience.
Depending on where you live, paid product testing through FocusGroup.com can be done at your home or in person at one of their different facilities.
This site also pays product testers in a variety of ways including PayPal cash and prepaid Visa gift cards. If you prefer cash instead of free samples, it’s one of the best ways to make money reviewing products out there.
7. Nielsen Homescan
Nielsen is a massive data collection and market research company that’s been in business for decades. In fact, you might already know about Nielsen from its famous TV ratings.
However, Nielsen is more than just a TV ratings company. In fact, it has numerous ways to earn passive income and to also make money reviewing products.
For starters, the Nielsen Homescan is a products testing program that has participants use a handheld scanner or their mobile app to scan the products they buy. Users then get paid for sharing this data and answering questions about the products they purchase.
Nielsen also has its Computer and Mobile Panel which pay you for sharing data about how you browse the web.
With these panels, you earn points that are redeemable for free gift cards and merchandise. And Nielsen also enters members into cash giveaways each month.
This isn’t the most direct way to get paid for product reviews. But Homescan is similar to apps like NCPMobile. And you can add in passive income apps like Nielsen Panel to earn even more.
8. Daily Goodie Box
If you’re still wondering how to get paid to review products, another website you can test out is the Daily Goodie Box.
The Daily Goodie Box is similar to sites like PINCHme and TryProducts. Once you sign up for free, you receive free boxes with a variety of new products that you get to keep in exchange for your reviews and opinions.
You don’t have to add credit card information or ever pay for a box. And Daily Goodie Box works with hundreds of brands to give you freebies like:
- Chocolate
- Home goods
- Scented products
- Cleaning supplies
- Teas and coffees
- Beauty products
While this product testing job is unpaid, product variety is pretty good. And it only takes a few minutes to provide your feedback in exchange for your box.
9. JJ Friends & Neighbors
Do you regularly use Johnson & Johnson products? If so, you might be able to get paid to test products through the JJ Friends and Neighbors testing program.
Once you sign up, Johnson & Johnson lets you receive free items to get paid for trying them out and leaving a review. You can also make money by participating in focus groups and by completing online surveys.
For individuals in the New York City area, there are also in-person opportunities as well. And payment is done in pre-paid Visa gift cards, so you basically get cash for your product reviews.

How Much Can You Make Reviewing Products For Money?
Most product testing jobs pay you for your feedback by letting you keep the products you test. Some gigs pay with PayPal cash or gift cards, but generally, you’re only making about $5 to $15 per testing gig.
There are some exceptions if you receive very expensive products like electronics or appliances to review for money. But generally, treat this as a fun side hustle and not as a full-time job opportunity.
Can I Review Amazon Products For Money?
There are lots of Amazon product review gigs out there that say they pay you with free products or cash for leaving positive reviews on Amazon. However, many of these gigs are a scam, and this also violates Amazon’s terms of service.
That said, you can get paid to review products on Amazon legitimately by using Amazon Vine. This is Amazon’s invitation-only program that lets popular Amazon reviewers receive new products to test and review.
You can read my post on how to make money writing Amazon reviews if you want some legit options.
Final Thoughts
At the end of the day, getting paid to review products is a fun and rewarding way to try new things and to receive free products or cash for your efforts.
Over the years, I’ve received many different items from food to health and beauty, toys to clothing. Some of the items were new releases, while others were from brands looking for consumer feedback to increase their credibility.
You won’t get rich by reviewing products for money. But this is a nice way to make money online as a beginner. And you might even love some of the products you end up keeping.
Just have realistic earning expectations with this side job. And always read the terms and service of a product testing job so you know what you’re getting into.
Best of luck!
