Contestants who make it to the end will split the pot of money and successfully lose their desired weight!

1. Join a Game
You have a few options in terms of what type of game you want to join.
For Kickstarter games, you can choose between the already existing games that are about to start or start your own and challenge your friends and family.
For Transformer games, there are new games that start several times a month without the option to create your own game.
You can pay your bet monthly or pay upfront to get the 6th month for free. There will also be smaller goals and tips in between the entire journey to help you stay on track.
Whoever completes the challenge in time will split the pot of money amongst themselves. Whoever doesn’t will sacrifice their bet and lose the prize.
2. Verify Starting Weight
You have to submit your starting weight (with proof) at least 2 days before the challenge begins.
The way you show proof is by submitting 2 photos…
- A picture of you standing on a scale in light weight clothing.
- A picture of the number on the scale next to a piece of paper with a special keyword.
The keyword will be given to you in order to make sure that you have taken the picture at the right time and with confidentiality that you aren’t cheating.
This is a pretty standard weight verification process that other fitness apps use, so don’t be alarmed!
Besides, DietBet has to make an effort to prevent cheaters so players don’t have an unfair advantage over others.
Note that DietBet states “for any game where the bets are over $100, we require video weigh-ins for all players.”

3. Play – Lose the Weight
Now’s the time to actually lose the weight and compete in the challenge!
For Kickstarter players, you’ll have 28 days to lose 4% of your starting body weight.
Transformer players will have exactly 6 months to lose 10% of your starting body weight.

4. Verify Ending Weight
After the challenge is complete, you will have exactly 48 hours to submit your final weight.

If you win a DietBet game, you split the pot of money (from everyone’s bets) with all the other winners. The winners are finalized after 24 hours of the weigh out.
DietBet states their “fee is 10-25% of the pot, depending on the amount of the initial bet.”

However, you should note that winners have a “No Lose Guarantee”.
This means that if you win, you can’t lose money. Worst case scenario is that you get your bet amount back and nothing in profit.
